Millions of web accounts hacked.

The recent increase in hacked websites, data breeches and data mining scandals (Facebook) should be a wake up call, right? Unfortunately not though, because most people (not all) in my experience simply don’t give a crap about their online security. Some use the same password for every website and email account. Others haven’t changed their password in years, sometimes even decades. Then their are those who play the “I’m too old to learn about computer stuff” card or “I’m not very good with computers” excuse.

So, now that I’ve got your attention. What’s the plan ?

I suggest you start protecting yourself right now against unethical corporations, blackhat hackers and data breeches.

At the very minimum you should:

  • Check to see if your email or usernames have been discovered in any lists here.
  • Enable Two-Factor authentication (aka 2-Step Verification) if it’s an option.
  • Download and install Malwarebytes Trial. Then run a Threat Scan.
  • Install a decent Antivirus and keep it up to date. FREE just as good as PAID .
